History
In 1962, Harold "Harrell" Lee and Norene Freeze opened Lake Todd Fish Camp. The original restaurant stood off what is now Shiloh Church Road in Davidson, North Carolina. The combined restaurant and family home, overlooking a small lake, was the start of a family affair that persists to this day. The original restaurant burned due to suspected arson in 1968, which prompted the move to the current location that sat vacant for many years due to its sordid past. Now that forlorn building has been home to Lake Todd for over 60 years.

Harold and Norene eased their way into retirement in the 1980s, leaving the restaurant to be handled by their daughter Delane. She still runs the restaurant to this day and can be found in the kitchen making sure every plate meets the standard Harold and Norene set in their time.

What is a fish camp?
A question often asked as the term has mostly disappeared from the lexicon of modern America. A fish camp is closely tied to the state of North Carolina and it's history, specifically the textile industry that boomed in the state for many years.
Originally a river side kitchen that anglers served daily catch to family, friends and fellow mill workers. Now it refers to a no frills, family friendly restaurant that deals in fried fish by the basket and a heapin' helpin' of sides like hushpuppies.
